The Iranian Academy of the Arts is to publish Iran veteran actor Ali Nasiriyan’s memoir book.
According to the report made by the academy, the memoir book is to be compiled by Mohammad-Ali Mansouri and will include the legendary actor’s biography and his artistic journey.
During the meeting held between Nasiriyan and the officials of the academy, talks have also been held on the contemporary history of Iranian theater and the importance of playwriting and the need for taking it seriously.
Head of the Academy of Arts has also suggested holding practical workshops on Iranian plays at the academy supervised by Ali Nasiriyan.
Among Nasiriyan’s most notable performances are movies ‘Kamal-ol-Molk’, ‘Mirza Nowruz's Shoes’, ‘Captain Khorshid’, ‘Scent of Joseph’s Shirt’, ‘The Silent King’, 'Saturday Hunter', and 'Iran Burger'.
He also played roles in the series 'Heads on Gallows’, ‘Hezar Dastan’, 'The Wolves', 'The Lost Paradise', 'Neighbors', 'Lighter than Darkness', 'Floating in a Bubble', ‘The Forbidden Fruit’, 'Sheikh Baha'ee', 'Mankind's Land', and 'Sparrow's Dream'.
Nasiriyan won a prize for writing the play ‘Nightingale in Love’ in 1957.
In 2002, Nasiriyan was honored as an 'Iranian National Treasure' in Theater and Film.
